Joseph A. Ortwein, 86, Aurora, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at St. John’s Aurora.
He was born March 30, 1920, in Verona to Louis Ortwein and Rose Jirik.
He married Virginia Harrington March 30, 1920, in Verona. She died Oct. 30, 1989.
He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 203rd Coast Artillery.
He retired as an assembler for General Motors and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora.
Survivors include three sons, Larry and Jerry Ortwein, both of St. Louis, and Mike Ortwein, Aurora; and one daughter, Pernilla Butts, Aurora.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Ortwein and one brother, Robert Ortwein.
Services are pending, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
