John STARRETT J.P. was born on 14 Mar 1757 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, died on 25 Jan 1840 in Mifflin Township, Franklin County, Ohio at age 82, and was buried in Mifflin Township Cemetery, Gahanna, Franklin County, Ohio.
Mifflin Township: The territory which now comprises Mifflin township was first settled about 1799 or 1800, by emigrants from Pennsylvania. William Read is believed to have been the first settler, but among other early pioneers were John Starrett and James Latta. John was a Justice of the Peace. He is listed as marrying John Adams and Philipena Linton in 1841; Susan Ann Agler and William Eaton, Jr.in 1850; Sarah Alspach and Andrew Click in 1837. [Only surnames beginning with "A" were listed]. Also witnessed the following Wills: Stephen R. Price, dated 1832; Daniel Dague, dated 1850; Robert Paull, dated 1854 [executor of Robert's estate was John Latta]; Phillip Keim, dated 1859. Revoluntionary Soldiers, Franklin County, Ohio A list of Revoluntary soldiers who applied for pensions from Franklin County, Ohio is found in the early records of our Court House. Those found are as follows: John Starrett.
