[48] SHULL Homer E. Shull, Sr., age 93, of Somerset, OH passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at his home. Homer was born on May 7, 1918 in Gahanna, OH and was raised on Cherry Bottom Road; he was the sonto the late Otto and Rebecca Shull. Homer was also preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a machinist at Clay Craft Brick for many years until his retirement. On May 21, 1945 he married Margaret Foor and had six children together, Homer E. (Janis) Shull, Jr. of Crooksville, OH, Sandy (Stan) Woodside of Rushville, OH, Diane Kellett of Reynoldsburg, OH, Pamela King of Pleasantville, OH, Charles (Sheila) Shull of Somerset, OH and Danny (Kendra) Shull of Somerset, OH. Homer was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Charles Shull of Columbus, OH; and sister, Willa Mae Kinsel of Somerset, OH. Homer enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking.He and Margaret traveled to Canada once a year for 50 years. Homer was a dedicated husband, proud father and cherished his grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 1 p.m. Interment follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery. Nathaniel Temple (4th son, 7th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty-Temple). He passed away at the home of his daughter, Susie (Sue) Temple-Bowling at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 13 days. He was preceded in death by one son, Fay Temple, age 17, January 26, 1923, and by his wife Etta Harris-Temple, January 6, 1941. He is survived by seven children: Ona Temple-Stevens; Clarence, Paul and Edd Temple, of Norcatur, Kansas; Ollie Temple-Shick Portaeville, Mo; Susie Temple-Bowling, Denver, Co; and Jay Temple of Pontiac, Michigan. Four brothers: John Temple, Marysville, KS; Bob and Wade Temple, Axtell, KS; James Temple, Concordia, KS; and one sister, Mary Elda Temple-Godbout of Summerfield, KS.
In 1883 he took a homestead seven miles northwest of Norcatur. On February 24, 1889, he was united in marriage to Etta Harris. To this marriage eight children were born. In the year 1905, they moved from farm to Norcatur. He was a dairyman with his brother-in-law, Edd Harris, for many years, giving up the work in 1940. He was a faithful member of the Odd Fellow Lodge for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
