[106] Lewis Edward Temple was born at Franklin, Warren County, Ohio April 29, 1827. He married Priscilla McNulty in 1849, Ohio. In 1853 the family (Lewis, Priscilla & two girls) settled for a shoft time in Nodaway County, close to Maryville, Mo. Their first son, John was born and died at the home of his in Nodaway, Mo. The family abt.,1855-56 moved across the Missouri river to Richardson, Co., Neb., onto a farm Lewis purchased (NE1/2 Section 21, T2N, R16E, Ohio Township) near Falls City. The next nine children were born on this farm. Two girls (Elizabeth "Lizzie" and Louisa Temple) died of typhoid fever and are buried on farm. Lewis Temple sold the farm and moved to Marshall Co., onto a new farm (NW1/4 Section 10, T3S, R10E, Lincoln Township) near Axtell, Ks. Lewis Temple died at the home of hisson, John Temple, in Axtell, Ks on Tuesday April 2, 1912, age 84 years, 11 months, and 4 days. To them were born 12 children, seven boys and five girls, of whom four preceded him in death. The livingare Sarah Kinney, Weltch, Okla, Mary E. Godbout, Axtell; David, Norton, Wade, Beattie; Nathaniel, Norcatur; John, James, and Robert W. Temple, Axtell. He was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ann Temple; Louisa Temple; Cora Temple; and a infant son, name unknown. While living in Nebraska Lewis was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopalian

[107] Priscilla McNulty-Temple (Ch of John & Drusilla Tumbelson-McNulty m. Aug 13, 1822, Adams Co, Ohio). Note: See John McNulty Genealogy, page 88. Priscilla was born May 11, 1827 in Adams county, Ohio. She married John Temple in 1849, Ohio. In 1853 the family (Lewis, Priscilla & two girls) settled for a short time in Nodaway County, close to Maryville Mo. Their first son John, was born in Nodaway Co, Mo. The family abt., 1855-56 moved across the Missouri river to Richardson Co., Neb. onto a farm Lewis purchased (NE1/4 Secion 21, T2N-R16E, Ohio Township) near Falls City. Priscilla was living with her daughter, Mary Temple- Godbout and family, but died at he home of her son, John Temple, at Axtell, Kansas Thursday December 15, 1910. She was 83 years, 7 months, and 4 days. She is survived by her husband, five sons, and two daughters, three brothers, and three sisters.

[108] David Temple (1st son, 3rd ch of Lewis and Priscilla McNulty-Temple). He was born July 26, 1855 on a farm near Maryville, Mo., Nodaway county. The Temple family Abt. 1855-56 moved across the Missouri river to Richardson county, Nebraska, onto a farm (NE1/4 of Section 21, T2N-R16E, Ohio Township) Lewis purchased. On October 31, 1878 he was married to Louise Melvina Partch. David and Louise Temple, in 1880, started West. Three of their older children were born in a sod house near Fairfield, Thayer county, Nebraska. They were in Norton county, Kansas, in the Northwest corner of the state, in 1887, where they raised eight childern four sons: Melvin M. Temple, Wymore, Neb.; William "Leslie" Temple, Lincoln, Neb.; Alvin "Ray" Temple, Norcatur; Lewis Edward Temple, Norcatur; and four daughters: Ethel "Pearle" Reid, Winston, Mo.; Elda A. Deeter, Ashland, Ohio; Ollie May Reager, Norcatur; and Mabel Irene Vanover, Norcatur, KS. Louise died of tuberculosis July 19, 1904, and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Norton county, Kansas.
David Temple remarried in 1909 to Bertha Martha Zigler McCurdy I, whose second husband was Alex Smith. Bertha was born August 11, 1853, Oquawka, IL. She died 1928 in Norcatur, Ks.
David died at the home of his brother, John Temple, in Marshall Co, Axtell, Ks., October 8, 1919; buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Norton Co, Ks. He is survived by his second wife eight children from his first marrage and brothers: Nathaniel, Norcatur; James, Clayton; and John, Wade, Robert, of Axtell; and sisters: Mary Godbout, Axtell; Sarah Kinney, Veneta, Ok.

[110] Louisa Temple (3rd dgtr., 5th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty-Temple). She was born, ca 1859, on the family farm (NE1/4 of Section 21, T2N-R16E, Ohio Township, Richardson Co.) near Falls City, Nebraska. Lewis pruchased land abt. 1855-56 and moved the family across Missouri River. Louisa Temple, age one, was found in 1860 federal census of Richardson County, Nebraska, but she was not included in the 1870 census. It is believed Louisa was one of the children ill with typhoid fever when her older sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ann Temple, returned home to help care for the children at the end of Febuary 1871. Louisa passed away at the end of Febuary or first of March 1871, at 11 or 12 years old. A month later her sister Lizzie, passed away from typhoid fever. As of this date, we believe Louisa and Lizzie Temple are buried on the family farm.
Lewis Temple sold the farm and moved to Marshall County, Axtell, Ks in the spring of 1883. He purchase a farm located at NW1/4 Section 10, T3S, R10E, Marshall county.

[111] Wade Temple (3rd son, 6th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty Temple). He married Effie May Miller February 17, 1891, Axtell, Ks. Effie was born July 22, 1866, Ashland, IL. After Effie death March 10, 1950 at Axtell, Ks, Wade whent to live with his son Claude and family at Wahoo, Nebraska.

[112] Nathaniel Temple (4th son, 7th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty-Temple). He passed away at the home of his daughter, Susie (Sue) Temple-Bowling at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 13 days. He was preceded in death by one son, Fay Temple, age 17, January 26, 1923, and by his wife Etta Harris-Temple, January 6, 1941. He is survived by seven children: Ona Temple-Stevens; Clarence, Paul and Edd Temple, of Norcatur, Kansas; Ollie Temple-Shick Portaeville, Mo; Susie Temple-Bowling, Denver, Co; and Jay Temple of Pontiac, Michigan. Four brothers: John Temple, Marysville, KS; Bob and Wade Temple, Axtell, KS; James Temple, Concordia, KS; and one sister, Mary Elda Temple-Godbout of Summerfield, KS.
In 1883 he took a homestead seven miles northwest of Norcatur. On February 24, 1889, he was united in marriage to Etta Harris. To this marriage eight children were born. In the year 1905, they moved from farm to Norcatur. He was a dairyman with his brother-in-law, Edd Harris, for many years, giving up the work in 1940. He was a faithful member of the Odd Fellow Lodge for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

[113] Mary Elda Temple-Godbout (5th dgtr., 9th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty-Temple). She died Saturday, December 27, 1947, at her home in Summerfield, KS, age 80 years, 4 months, 23 days. She moved with her parents to Axtell, KS in 1883. On June 14, 1888, she was married to Peter Godbout in Axtell. To them were born born six children, the first born passing away in infancy.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children, One daughter Ethel Detweiler, Emmett, Idaho; four sons, Roy, Blue Rapids; Lloyd, Wilder, Idaho; Earl, Wichita; Donald, Seneca; three brothers, John Temple, Wichita; Wade Temple, Axtell; James Temple, Concordia; three brothers and four sisters and one daughter having preceded her in death. She was a member of Summerfield Methodist church.

[114] James "Jim" Temple (5th son, 10th ch of Lewis & Priscilla McNulty-Temple). He was born Mar 6, 1869 on a farm (NE1/4 of Section 21, T2N-R16E, Ohio Township) near Falls City, Nebraska. He moved with hisparents to Marshall county, Axtell, Ks in the Spring of 1883. He helped his father at abt. 14 years old break the prairie and build a farmstead. He married Maud Secrist January 6, 1895.
They lived in Norton county, Clayton, Ks for many years before moving to Concordia, Ks in 1926. He assisted his son with the delivery of the Kansas City Star and Times until ill health forced his retirement.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Letha Temple; two grandsons, Dale Norris and Donald Temple, of Concordia, Ks; Clyde and Golden Temple Axtell, Ks are nephews. His wife preceded him in death December 8, 1952.
