William TEMPLE was born about 1650 in Coombs Lane, Wiltshire, England.(1) He died in England. William Temple is listed in Mary B. Temple's book " Notable Men of Tennessee," as the grandson of Thomas Temple of Heytesbury, Wiltshire, England. Thomas died about 1594, leaving ten children. If these dates are correct, there may be two generations between Thomas and William. William Temple's home was Coombs Lane, Parish of Atworth (Bradford-on-Avon). William had at least three children. His third son was Thomas.

We are not sure how Thomas Temple got to America, but he appears in Goshen, Pennsylvania, in 1721, at the age of 27.("Kings Mountain Men") He is the third child of William Temple & Susannah Carrington.
