INDEX

[121] John TEMPLE (2)(7) was born on 20 May 1758 in Pennsylvania. (2) He died on 28 May 1828. There appears to be some question about the death of John Temple. Jim Zobel's extensive research offers a death date of 1828, well after the death of his Father and Mother. But the wills for both his Father and Mother (1816 and 1820) mention only "heirs of John." The only other children treated this way (Josiah, William & Thomas) are deceased. This would lead one to believe John Temple was dead by 1816.
However, it is possible he Father and Mother had already given him "his share" of the estate or its possible he was alive and was simply not held in favor by his parents.
On that subject, Joanne May writes, "I see that you too noted that John Temple appeared to be deceased at the writing of his parents wills. We have discussed
this in the archives and we have sorted out that our John Temple was dead, having died in Giles co, TN. in 1816.. just prior to Major's will. The John Temple listed as dying in Westmoreland Co, PA wasnot the son of Major and Mary Temple. I have found some guardian records of John's underage children in Giles Co, TN records, but we believe he probably had some of age."
