James TEMPLE 41260 was born on 18 January 1816 in Union Co., OH.14071,15902,17494,19516 In September 1850 he was a farmer in Washington Twp., Franklin, OH.17494 In June 1860 he was a farmer in Washington Twp., Franklin, OH.14071 In June 1880 James was a farmer in Washington Twp., Franklin, OH.19516 Enumerated with him in 1880 were Angeline J. ae 9 and Clara L., ae 5, clearly relations that he was taking care of, but only designated as "living with" by the enumerator. I am not sure who they are, since their ages do not really match well with the ages of the children of his son George. Temple/McNulty identified at least Angeline as the daughter of George, but this needs more proof given the disparity in the ages. He died on 6 September 1896 at the age of 80 in Franklin Co., OH.15901,15902 Buried in Dublin (Odd Fellows) Cemetery, Washington Twp., OH. He has reference number RLT J5.18641 Enumerated with him in 1860 was a grandson, John, ae 3, but with no indication of parentage. Parents: Thomas TEMPLE-928 and Jane BRITTON-21632.

He appeared in the census in June 1860 in Washington Twp., Franklin, OH.14071 James served in the military in 1863/4.15901 Served with the Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company, 60th Regiment. Commissioned 1st Lt. 1 Feb 1863. He died on4 June 1864 at the age of 16 in Hanover Co., VA.15901 Died at the battle of Cold Harbor, 10 miles NE of Richmond in the Civil War. This was part of the Feb-Mar 1864 campaign of Kilpatrick's in Virginia, intended to rescue prisoners in Richmond.
