Click below to see what happened to my truck on March 14, 2001 at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet while in for some routine service.
The gentleman who moved my truck from the service writer's area either got his foot trapped on the gas pedal or must have mistaken the gas pedal for the break pedal. Either way he launched the truck from the service writer's bay (see rubber patch in photo 3) swerved to keep from hitting a new Z71 Pickup and T-boned another employee's car (photo 2). Notice there are parts of my fender hanging from the window
pillar. The fire department was called to remove the employee from his car. Both men were transported to a local hospital and later released.
My truck was not so fortunate.
UPDATE: March 23, 2001 Chuck Hutton Chevrolet's insurance company (CNA Insurance) declares both vehicles a total loss. We am currently negotiating a fair settlement.
UPDATE: April 2, 2001
We settled with CNA Insurance for a "less than expected" settlement.
